1 John 3:18

Daylight Prayer – Lord, forgive me when I ignore those who need help. I seem to do it all the time because I am always into myself, my things, my activities, my plans, my work, my…my…my…me…me…me. I know it is true that you are telling me with this scripture that I need to stop focusing so much on myself and look around. I know that you are telling me to help somebody…not just think on it. Show me, help me, forgive me. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – I foresaw that the Lord was always with me; because he is at my right hand I won’t be shaken. Therefore, my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover, my body will live in hope.

Acts 2: 24-26

Daylight Prayer – Lord, today I pray for those who mourn. I have known your comfort on many days and in many situations, in grief, in loss, in pain, in heartbreak. You have sustained me with your steadfast love…always. May those who are mourning today be comforted by your sweet and blessed presence. May they feel your grace and peace even in the midst of their pain. Amen.

Psalms 25: 15-16

Daylight Prayer – Lord God. I join with others who are praying today…this prayer and other prayers. Our world is a harsh and cruel place, where innocents are slaughtered. We can not go on being and doing the evil deeds that come from within us. We are guilty in too many ways to name. We have to turn around. We have to repent. We have to turn to you…or else we are ruined. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.

Deuteronomy 16:17

Daylight Prayer – Lord, I know that my gifts can never match the harvest that you give me in my life, for I am so blessed. God, help me to be generous, in goods, funds and spirit. Forgive me when I scrimp. Amen.

Psalm 15:16

Daylight Prayer – Lord, I join this song of praise. Your strength is why I can continue to live. You have loved me, when I was not lovable, even when I have not deserved it. You have watched me turn my back, and distrust your word, and follow after the things of the world. Yet your love has always pulled me back in to the safety of your home. You never left me…though I left you. Your home, my fortress. Keep me, Lord so that I do not leave you for the world’s attractions. Keep me. Protect me from the meaningless enemy of sparkle and fluff.

Psalm 40: 5

Daylight Prayer – Boys…is it ever the truth Lord! Your love and gifts of grace, abundant life, and restoration are indeed to many to count! Thank you. Thank you for my mate, my family, my home, my health, my vocation, my friends, my life…thank you. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – When my endurance was weakening, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came to you, to your holy temple.

Jonah 2:7

Daylight Prayer – Lord of Heaven, who is in such a place as a man in the belly of a fish, with its stench, pitch darkness, misery and hopelessness? Find the prayers that they are praying. Hear them. Rescue and restore them. Bring them from the darkness into the sweet air of the hope and light of your presence. Amen.
