Daylight Prayer – Lord, today I pray for those whose saltiness is fading. Gracious one, anoint them today with a special grace. Strengthen their seasoning. Enable them to be the salt you need for the world around them. Amen.

Daylight Prayer – Lord, hear my prayer for this moment. I pray for the creation of earth that was imagined, designed and brought into being through your power. Help me to join those in the world who love you to treat it and its inhabitants with honor and the awe deserving of your great craft. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – Examine me, Lord; put me to the test! Purify my mind and my heart.

Daylight Prayer – Lord, I know that I will face a few if not many tests today. I pray for you to help me in them. When I want to speak back to someone in harshness, give me kind, truthful words. Help me to listen. Help me to remember my own errors. Help me have compassion, and keep me from judging. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, my prayer today is for anyone who may feel like the Lord’s blessing has passed them over. Help them to recognize that they are breathing, experiencing the atmosphere, maybe sunshine, maybe cooling rain…and maybe even the beauty of a sunflower. Amen. 

Daylight Scripture – The headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine. He didn’t know where it came from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. The headwaiter called the groom and said, “Everyone serves the good wine first. They bring out the second-rate wine only when the guests are drinking freely. You kept the good wine until now.”

John 2: 9-10

Daylight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for the good wine that you have made for us. Today I pray for all those who are being blessed with the gift of a spouse. May your love follow them as they become one family. Help them in their hard times. Give them joy in the good times. And let them experience you together in love and friendship. Amen.

Daylight Prayer – Lord, The immensity of your greatness overwhelms my mind. Let me this day see you in the small simple things that you do…like say… bringing the sun up. Thank you God for the day.  Amen.

Daylight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for all those who struggle to make ends meet. Single moms, elderly persons on fixed incomes, families who live in poverty, and persons who do not make a living wage, Lord have mercy. Help me this day to remember to do as John said, share what I have with those who have a need. Amen.
