Romans 4:7

Daylight Prayer – Gracious Lord, Sometimes we don’t want to ask for your forgiveness because we don’t believe we deserve forgiveness. It is true, we don’t. But, thanks be to God, your love is greater than what we deserve. Help us to let our faith take us to a place of forgiveness and restoration…today…right now! Amen.

Daylight Scripture – The legal experts continued to question Jesus. He said to the, “the one who is without sin can cast the first stone.”

John 8:7

Daylight Prayer – Lord help us to remember that we all are sinners, and none of us can cast stones at another. Lord, forgive us for our arrogance, and save us from our judgments and hurtful words…which feel like rocks hitting. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – But “when God our savior’s kindness and love appeared, he saved us because of his mercy, not because of righteous things we had done.”

Titus 3:4-5

Daylight Prayer – Lord, this season is so beautiful, the colors of harvest, the crispness of morning, the clear starry sky. Thank you for the glory of your creation, which demonstrates your power year after year. Like these great miracles, such is your love for us unto salvation. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – On that day: The deaf will hear the words of a scroll and, freed from dimness and darkness, the eyes of the blind will see. The poor will again find joy in the Lord, and the neediest of people will rejoice in the holy one of Israel.

Isaiah 29:18-19

Daylight Prayer – Holy God, I know that we still struggle day to day to keep faith in a world that seems to be very out-of-control. I pray for your strength to sustain us, and our loving fellowship to adhere us to one another, so that on that day, which Isaiah says will come, we will be found faithful. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – I’m thankful for all of you every time I pray, and it’s always a prayer full of joy.

 Philippians 1:4

Daylight Prayer – Lord, I am grateful for the people you place in my life. You have given me a family to be part of, and a community to thrive in, and a people of grace in which to grow. For all these, I ask your blessings and for their well being. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – The Lord is good, a haven in a day of distress. He acknowledges those who take refuge in him.

Nahum 1:7

Daylight Prayer – Gracious Lord, Today I pray for persons under the strain of distress. For the ones who are making life decisions, give them your wisdom and courage to choose well. Then I ask you Lord to seal their decisions with peace. Amen.
