Daylight Scripture – If I speak in tongues of human beings and of angels but I don’t have love, I’m a clanging gong or a clashing cymbal.
Daylight Scripture – Make your ways known to me, Lord; teach me your paths.
Daylight Scripture – The Son is the light of God’s glory and the imprint of God’s being. He maintains everything with his powerful message. After he carried out the cleansing of people from their sins, he sat down at the right side of the highest majesty.
Daylight Scripture – God said, “let there be light, and there was light.”
DayLight Scripture – The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to preach good news to the poor, to proclaim release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to liberate the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Luke 4: 18-19
DayLight Prayer – Lord, These words help me to remember my own calling. Thank you for the blessings of life and ministry. I have come to learn that when we follow the calling your give us, or as some might say, realize our life purpose and do it, our lives are anointed; anointed by your Spirit, your grace, and your favor. Help me each day to overcome my own resistance to follow you, and enable me to continue to share the good news. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
John 1: 6-8
Daylight Prayer – Gracious Lord, Today I think about all the people who need your light; those who live in dark places, dungeons of doubt, caves of crisis, and man-holes of misery. Please send a “John” or a “Jane” to find them. Bring them the witness to your love, mercy and grace. Let the light shine in their darknesses and bring them hope. Amen.
