Daylight Scripture – When he had received the bitter wine, Jesus said, “It is completed.” Bowing his head, he gave up his life.
Daylight Prayer – O Lord, woe is me this night…when I remember your suffering and your death. It is not something that I like to think about, how you were beaten, mocked, denied, rejected, spat upon, and nailed to a cross. How can I say that was good? How can I understand that kind of love? My heart breaks and I grieve yet again that my sin put you there. Forgive me, Lord I pray. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What will you give me if I turn Jesus over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver. From that time on he was looking for an opportunity to turn him in.
Matthew 26: 14-16
Daylight Prayer – Lord, today is the day we remember how Judas betrayed you to the people who would have you killed. You knew that he was going to do it, for you knew his soul. How many times have I betrayed you? Did you know that I would? Forgive me, Lord. Cleanse me from the darkness of heart that would permit me to betray you…even in the slightest way. I know your mercy is never-ending, and your love strong enough to save me from my sin and from myself. Lord in your mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – If you lie down, you won’t be terrified. When you lie down, your sleep will be pleasant.
Daylight Prayer – Gracious Lord, Thank you for the pleasant feeling of peace when I lie down at night. I know you remember my prayers from when I was a little girl. I trusted you completely with my hours of slumber because I was sure you were right there watching me. I still feel that way even though I’ve stopped the, “now I lay me down to sleep” prayer I prayed then. I still trust you to either take me through the night to morning or take me home…either one, and I am alright. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.
Job 36: 4
Daylight Prayer – Lord, I thank you that you are bigger than I can understand. Since you laid the foundation of the earth, you can surely take care of me. Let me know what I need to know to be able to do the things that you want me to do and help me to be more like my Lord Jesus. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – Hear me, Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you; save your servant who trusts in you.
Psalm 86: 1-2
Daylight Prayer – Some days, Lord…some days are just hard! Long! Frustrating! and I must admit, I am glad when they are over! Forgive me when I complain, fuss, cry and act a fool. I know better. But, when I am tired, poor and needy….what I need is more of you. So give me more, Lord. More. So that I can stand up straight and bless your Holy name; so that I can be generous; so I can be whole and well. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – The Lord is my light and my salvation. Should I fear anyone? The Lord is a fortress protecting my life. Should I be frightened of anything?
Daylight Prayer – Gracious God, this world is so full of fearful things, including people, ideologies, natural disasters, disease, weapons, and wars. Of these, we have no control. But we have you to protect us. Fill me today with the courage of the redeemed, for that is who you have made me. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Let all those who are suffering eat and be full! Let all who seek the Lord praise him! I pray your hearts live forever!
Daylight Prayer – Lord, in the midst of suffering our hearts cry out to you. Thank you for hearing us, listening to our hardships, and offering the presence of your Spirit to comfort and guide us. Let each of us…let me Lord, live in your favor all the days of my life. Help me to find you when I am in the suffering place. Help all of us to cling to you like you are all we have, because I know you are. Amen.
