DayLight Scripture – Look, my Servant whom I chose, the one I love, in whom I find great pleasure. I’ll put my Spirit upon him, and he’ll announce judgment to the nations. He won’t argue or shout, and nobody will hear his voice in the streets. He won’t break a bent stalk, and he won’t snuff out a smoldering wick, until he makes justice win. And the nations will put their hope in his name.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I know this beautiful scripture from Isaiah speaks of Jesus, but if only I could let my life reflect his gentleness, no shouting or arguing, no drama, then you could generate hope through me in ways that might speak to someone who does not know you. My prayer is that you help me follow the ways of Jesus more everyday. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I remember the stories of Jesus and his compassion. What they teach me is that you are compassion too. You are all compassion. How else could we live from day to day. Thank you Lord for your compassionate mercy. Amen.

Ephesians 5:2

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Forgive me because I fail to follow the loving example of Jesus all the time. I am often selfish, and simply do not want give myself for others every minute of every day. ! I know that I should want to, but there are moments when I cry like a baby…silently of course…saying me, me, me, mine, mine, mine. I’m sorry, Lord. Continue to work with me. Continue to love me. Continue to teach me. Continue to help me get better at following your example.  Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Help me today to add these essentials to my faith, for I know they will increase my credibility as a herald of the gospel. For if I don’t act like I am faithful, who will believe me? Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Some days I seem to need a double portion of your love and patience.  It’s those days when there is trouble all around, and the news is depressing. Those days that I want to just curl up with my comfort foods and tell the world to go away. But I know that is not what you want of me. You want me to remember your love that is like the father has for you. Infinite and able to sustain me everyday.Amen.

DayLight Scripture – …the Lord says, “Because the poor are oppressed,  because of the groans of the needy, I’m now standing up.  I will provide the help they are gasping for.”

Psalm 12:5

DayLight Prayer – My prayer today is for the many ones who are just simply having a terrible day. I pray that in the midst of it, someone will come, sent by you to offer them a ray of hope. Let them remember that you are with them in every storm, and that you care for them beyond all measure! Amen.

DayLight Scripture – Because the one who avenges bloodshed remembers those who suffer; the Lord hasn’t forgotten their cries for help.

Psalm 9:12

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I pray for children who are suffering today, the small boys given live ammunition and forced to fight wars  someone else started. I pray for little girls who are dressed up and painted up as women of pleasure. I pray for children who are made to work their way through childhood and who miss the years of happy-go-lucky play. Have mercy on us God for turning our minds and our eyes away from these realities of our world. Give us the boldness to support measures that overcome the oppression and suffering of our world’s children. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord,  Today my prayer is for those of us who are struggling with the daily grind of life, the job, the kids, the bills, the friends, the needs, the drama. God help each of your children who is calling on you today to know your divine presence, to sense you peace, and lift them to walk in the light of your love.  Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord,  Thank you for my daily provisioning. You are indeed the one who cares for me and sends others into my life to fulfill my needs. Where would I be without your gracious love and mercy? Bereft. I would be bereft. I am so grateful. Amen.
