DayLight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for the blessing of a beautiful winter day. Even with no snow, the frost laid down a carpet of white this morning and the evening was calming and serene. God I ask that you nourish and sustain anyone who is struggling with depression in the winter.  Amen.

Sirach 43:20

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today my prayer is for anyone who must venture out in the cold of the day, when ice is forming on roads and overpasses, and travel may be dangerous. Lord, move to protect and guide. Thank you for your ever abiding presence and care. Amen.

DayLight Scripture – If God dresses grass in the field so beautifully, even though it’s alive today and tomorrow it’s thrown into the furnace, won’t God do much more for you, you people of weak faith?

Matthew 6:20

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I know that worry defeats many of us. Concerns of having enough, for our children, for our spouses, for our parents, for ourselves, and for our descendants, get us down. Help us understand that what you give is enough. Help us to let our worries go today. Help us to trust you.  Amen.

Galatians 3: 27-28

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today my prayer is for all church families near and far. I pray that we consider that we are made one when we place our faith in Jesus, and when we are baptized. Being in God’s family means that we look at each other as brothers and sisters, and that we treat each other with love and consideration. Help us to leave our judgments where they belong, Lord…with you. We each have opinions, ideas and desires, but first help us to seek the way of Jesus in all of our churches. Amen.

DayLight Scripture – Who can endure the day of God’s coming? Who can withstand God’s appearance? God is like the refiner’s fire or the cleaner’s soap.

DayLight Prayer – Great God, Let me this day rejoice to know that you are coming, and I pray, coming soon.  I am blessed to know that because of Jesus, I can be clean and presentable to you. I am blessed to be represented by the Holy One and through his grace I am refined. Lord I bless your name. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for persons who are facing a difficult time ahead, those whose futures seem bleak and uncertain, those whose security is threatened by loss of employment, those who have lost a love one, those who are in the midst of divorce, and those who are in prison…anyone who is struggling with life. Lord as they pour their hearts out before you, seeking refuge in you, let them know that you are there; that they are not alone. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Help me today to recognize my own sinfulness. We are all sinners, and I thank you that you came to save us! Amen.
