About Judy Eurey

In my life I am a wife to Ed, a mom to Amanda and Charles, Mimi to Sara and Jessy, and Judy to my friends and family. In 2019 I retired from pastoral ministry and have settled into my new normal. Frankly I love being retired. Unless otherwise noted, the Scripture passages used on my blog DayLight are my own paraphrased interpretations. I invite you to verify, dispute and otherwise comment. I am open to discussion.

DayLight 11.21.14

Standard

packing-donations2DayLight Scripture – God has generously granted you the privilege, not only of believing in Christ but also of suffering for Christ’s sake.

Philippians 1:29

DayLight Prayer – Lord, How well I know that your saints suffer. I see it on a daily basis. But the thing is, they do it for your sake and with joy, taking on the hardships of others, giving from pockets that are woefully limited, and disrupting the plans of the evil one every chance they get. Your saints are always serving and giving back to the communities which have supported them. I know their reward is awaiting them one day, but I pray for their strong spirit as they struggle today for the sake of the kingdom. Amen.

child-soldierDayLight Scripture – On that day, I will make a covenant for them with the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the creeping creatures of the fertile ground. I will do away with the bow, the sword, and war from the land; I will make you lie down in safety.

Hosea 2:18

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Hasten the day when there is no more war, no more fighting, and no more fear. You have given us this wonderful world to live in, a place where children can grow up, learn and live. Why do we humans destroy the beautiful, and leave behind what we believe is the “new and improved.” God forgive us when we do not attach ourselves to you and your goodness, when we fight instead of love one another, and when we do listen to you. Amen.

DayLight 11.19.14

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for the perfection of your promises. You promise us life amid any and every destruction. You promise to be there to hold us up, to strengthen us, to assist us in any way that we need, if we just ask you to. Today I ask for myself and for anyone who needs you. Amen.

Job 22:21

DayLight Prayer – God of all Creation, hear my prayer. Let your peace be with those persons whose family members have suffered violence at the hands of governments, terrorists, and mobs. Help them to find forgiveness in their hearts for the ruthlessness that has been visited upon them. Through Jesus who is the author of peace. Amen.

Romans 10: 12-13

DayLight Prayer – Lord,  Today I pray for people who believe that you only hear the prayers of the good. Help them to know that you hear every prayer that is uttered in the name of the Lord. All they have to do is pray. You hear; you act; you save. Amen.

Your love creates a new world within me, so help extend your creation beyond myself to those I encounter.  Amen.

wild-horses-runningDayLight Scripture – Christ himself suffered on account of sins, once for all, the righteous one on behalf of the unrighteous. He did this in order to bring you into the presence of God. Christ was put to death as a human, but made alive by the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:18

alpha_omega_symbolDayLight Scripture –  Then he said to me, “All is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will freely give water from the life-giving spring. Revelation 21:6-7

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I am thankful in knowing that you are both the beginning and the end. Today I pray for any person who is struggling with believing that you are the creator and that you love them. Help them to feel relief, and send them people who care. Help them have victory today! Amen.
