DayLight Prayer – Lord, you know all of our hearts. You know our sins which are many. Lord forgive us when we judge, and take it upon our selves to identify the good from the bad, the wicked from the saint, the right theology from the wrong. Help us to remember that none of us are above sin nor can we cast a stone at another. Forgive us when we do. Help us to let you be judge. Amen. 

DayLight Scripture –   Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you resentful because I’m generous? So those who are last will be first. And those who are first will be last.

Matthew 20: 15-16

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for those of us who are unable to make a living wage; for the children who go to school without the necessities that their peers take for granted,  for the seniors who must choose between buying food or buying medicine, and the parents who scrimp on their own supper in order to be sure their kids have enough.  Lord, help me, help us to understand that we each have basic human needs whether we are rich, with plenty, or poor, without. Give us the generosity of heaven with which to deal with one another. Give us courage and faith to become your provisioning hands. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I pray today for any soul who is feeling lost. I know that you are looking for them…to speak words of hope, encouragement, and love to them. I pray that they will be able to hear your beckoning voice and will be able to feel your presence. Your love is light and vital to us, so help us be in your saving light. Amen.

DayLight Scripture –  I tell you, joy breaks out in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who changes both heart and life.”

Luke 15:10

DayLight Prayer – Lord, My prayer today is for all of us sinners. God, help us to see how, when, and why we sin. Show us exactly what these actions, which we know are abhorrent to you, place holes in our souls and lives. Let us see how our sins damage others. Send your Spirit to whisper to us how our sins grieve your holy heart. Lord, give us strength to face our sins, and give us power over them so that we can repent and live right. In your mercy, hear my prayer and forgive me through Jesus. Amen.

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with their brother or sister will be in danger of judgment. DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for those of us who use words to express ourselves. Forgive us when we use them to break down the worth of others, and to diminish others’  self-esteem. Forbid us to use our words to intentionally rob people of the regard of others or make them feel unworthy, ignorant, stupid or useless. Help us to know the gravity of our unloving and hurtful speech, even and especially on social media where it is so easy to be rude and crude! Help us to remember to honor one another as God’s creations and ones whom God loves. Amen.

DayLight Scripture –  Now when Jesus had come down from the mountain, large crowds followed him. A man with a skin disease came, kneeled before him, and said, “Lord, if you want, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do want to. Become clean.” Instantly his skin disease was cleansed.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for your healing. At times it is our bodies that need it, at times our minds, and many times it is our hearts that need your healing touch. For all who need healing, Lord, in your mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

DayLight Scripture – People were bringing children to Jesus so that he would bless them. But the disciples scolded them. When Jesus saw this, he grew angry and said to them, “Allow the children to come to me. Don’t forbid them, because God’s kingdom belongs to people like these children.  I assure you that whoever doesn’t welcome God’s kingdom like a child will never enter it.”  Then he hugged the children and blessed them.

Mark 10: 13-16

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Bless all the children today; those who are sick, cranky, full of mischief, sad, sassy, big, small, self-assured, and timid. Bless them for the wonderful spirits they have, and help them to enjoy the day fully. Help us to protect each one and welcome them as they come to you.  Amen.  

DayLight Scripture – Jesus was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests, the legal experts, and the foremost leaders among the people were seeking to kill him.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for all people who are being persecuted for teaching and proclaiming your gospel. I know that the evil one would like for your name to never be mentioned, to never be alluded to, to never come up. Instead, let your name be proclaimed, and let the proclamation be protected from evil. Your good news is to vital too be hidden. The good news is that in you there is freedom from fear and death, forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Who among us is searching for you? Is it the child who is hungry, or the mother who is homeless, or the man who is on the brink of losing his family’s home? Whether we know it or not, all that we need is found in you, but some of us refuse to search for you. Oh God, help us. Amen.

DayLight Prayer – Lord, If only we could grasp the truth, we would be changed totally by it. Yet each of us wants our “own” truth before we can believe. I pray for your kingdom, that it comes in our hearts with the power of the knowledge that through you we are one, sisters and brothers of your great kingdom. Help us to intentionally study, adopt, take-on, feel out and live into all you have created us to be. Amen.
