About Judy Eurey

In my life I am a wife to Ed, a mom to Amanda and Charles, Mimi to Sara and Jessy, and Judy to my friends and family. In 2019 I retired from pastoral ministry and have settled into my new normal. Frankly I love being retired. Unless otherwise noted, the Scripture passages used on my blog DayLight are my own paraphrased interpretations. I invite you to verify, dispute and otherwise comment. I am open to discussion.

griefDaylight Scripture – Blessed are people who grieve, because they will be made glad.

Matthew 5:4

Daylight Prayer – Gracious and loving God. People are grieving in many places today. They have lost sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, friends, husbands, wives and people they love. Let their spirits rest in you as they take on and carry these losses. Help them through the day reassuring them they they will not die because of this pain, but that one day gladness will return…simply because that is your promise to us. Amen.

Daylight Scripture – Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:25

Daylight Scripture –  Every single one of you who judge others is without any excuse. You condemn yourself when you judge another person because the one who is judging is doing the same things.

Romans 2:1

Daylight Prayer – My Lord, Save us from the judgments that follow us day in and day out. Lord, people are losing their minds from the cruel and harsh judgments that they hear other say about them. Their morale is being destroyed, their confidence shot apart, and their ability to bear up gets weaker and weaker. Lord, have mercy. Help us to remember that the only judge who counts to us and to the world is you. Focus our attention on being the best that you have made us to be, and help us to let go of what the world thinks. Amen.
