DayLight 5.9.15

Standard

Sawssan Abdelwahab, who fled Idlib in Syria, walks with her children outside the refugees camp near the Turkish-Syrian border in YayladagiDayLight Scripture –  When you harvest your land’s produce, you must not harvest all the way to the edge of your field; and don’t gather every remaining bit of your harvest. Leave these items for the poor and the immigrant; I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 23:22

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today my prayer is for the many who are struggling to find food, shelter and safety. I know that lack of these basic needs brings despair, fear and heartbreak. God help us to be aware of our ability to help, and fill us with courage to act to help in ways that bring dignity and honor.  Amen.

Last year I retired from pastoral ministry and am settling into my new normal...um whatever that is going to be! Unless otherwise noted, the Scripture passages used on my blog DayLight are my own paraphrased interpretations. I invite you to verify, dispute and otherwise comment. I am open to discussion.
