Daylight Scripture – The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5: 22-23
Daylight Prayer – Lord, In the world there are spirits of all kinds, some are good, many are foul. Let my life reflect the Spirit of God. Help me to exhibit the fruit that comes from being filled with Your Spirit. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Every single one of you who judge others is without any excuse. You condemn yourself when you judge another person because the one who is judging is doing the same things.
Daylight Prayer – My Lord, Save us from the judgments that follow us day in and day out. Lord, people are losing their minds from the cruel and harsh judgments that they hear other say about them. Their morale is being destroyed, their confidence shot apart, and their ability to bear up gets weaker and weaker. Lord, have mercy. Help us to remember that the only judge who counts to us and to the world is you. Focus our attention on being the best that you have made us to be, and help us to let go of what the world thinks. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – The Lord appeared to them from a distance: I have loved you with a love that lasts forever. And so with unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.
Daylight Prayer – Lord, help all of us today to see you there, in the distance. Help us to know the depth of your love for us…the only, I repeat, the only love that has a flesh and blood promise to last forever. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18
Daylight Prayer – Lord, It seems to have dawned on me. All the thing I fear do not love me, but are in fact something posed to bring me harm and heartache instead of blessing. Help me trust you, love you to the extent that even the things I fear are remade. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me.
Daylight Prayer – Lord, Today there are so many voices, so many words, so many people competing for my attention. They call me from places galore wanting me to follow their way, their more, their option, their agenda, their party. But I want to hear you and I want to follow you. I pray for you to give me ears that are attuned to you…strictly. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love.
Daylight Prayer – Tonight I pray for all persons who are suffering because of the changes in the administrations, laws and policies, not only in the US, but everywhere in the world. Please be a comfort, Lord, to children who do not know where they will be tomorrow, and mothers who want to be reunited with their families and fathers who long to hug their aging parents. Lord have mercy on us all. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – I love the beauty of your house, Lord; I love the place where your glory resides.
Daylight Prayer – Where do I find the place where your glory resides Lord? Is it in the majestic cathedrals that have been built all over the world? Is it by the roaring oceans at sunset or sunrise? Is it in the laughter of a child’s happiness? Is it in the tender moments of love between a man and woman? Or in ten acre canola field? I must admit, Lord. I find you in all those places. I am grateful that your house extends beyond my feeble imagination. Glory to your name. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – Every morning and every evening they offer entirely burned offerings and fragrant incense to the Lord, and set out bread in stacks upon a clean table. At night they light the lamps on the gold lampstand. Yes, while you are abandoning the Lord our God, we are doing what he requires.
2 Chronicles 3:11
Daylight Prayer – Lord, I know that church is not where most people find themselves on a Sunday morning. I know there are a million excuses that people use not to think of or worship you on the Lord’s day. I know that people feel nothing when they have abandoned you, failed you and hurt you. Then I think…Lord, who else do we have that can bring us through this life to eternity? Who else? Forgive us when we do not do what is required, I pray. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – “Suppose someone among you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them. Wouldn’t he leave the other ninety-nine in the pasture and search for the lost one until he finds it?
Daylight Prayer – Lord, I know this parable is one that applies to me. When I get lost, you find me what ever you must do. I am so grateful that you love me enough to look over my errors and sins and send and search until I am found again. Amen.
Daylight Scripture – When a strong man, fully armed, guards his estate, his possessions are secure. But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers him, he takes from him all his weapons he trusted in, and divides up his plunder. Anyone who is not with Me is against Me, and anyone who does not gather with Me scatters.
Luke 11: 21-23
Daylight Prayer – Lord, I know that we do not all belong to the same churches, denominations, religious sects or tribes. But I pray that you will help us to remember that we are all working for the same Lord, the same kingdom, the same Good news. Let us be brothers and sisters, children of God in spirit and purpose. Amen.
