Daylight Scripture – Simeon blessed Jesus and Mary and said to Mary Jesus’ mother, “This boy is assigned to be the cause of the falling and rising of many in Israel and to be a sign that generates opposition.
Daylight Prayer – Lord, It must have been a difficult thing for Mary to hear that you would generate opposition, especially as she held you close to her heart and listened to your sweet infant breaths. But the word that Simeon gave her was and is still true. Thanks be to God, were it not for your work of opposition to death and evil, we certainly would be hopeless in this world. Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

Your Father who sees what you do in secret will reward you.”
Matthew 6: 2-4
Daylight Prayer – Lord, these words of Jesus instruct me to be sure I do not brag about what I do for others. Maybe what you are getting at is that what I should brag about is what others have done for me. In giving, we receive the blessings from God. Help me to only look to receive what God has for me instead of a feather for my own hat! Amen.
