Lord, help me today to take refuge in your love and faithfulness. Help me to forget that I’m in charge; that I have to do everything. Help me remember that you send help, that others are even now being sent to share my work. I rejoice in you Lord, because I can hold on to you when I am down. Amen.

Instead of worrying, seek first God’s Kingdom and the righteousness that come from God. Then what you need, you will have.

Matthew 6: 37

DayLight Prayer –

God, how quickly we are to be moved onto that hill of worry; how often we drag fretfulness, indecision and uncertainty up that terrain. Forgive us Lord, and move us instead to the rock-skipping delights of communion with you, where everything we need, we find. Amen.

The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the Lord. In one voice they praised God saying: For the Lord is good, the faithfulness and love of God endures forever. As they sang and played their musical instruments, trumpets, cymbals, harps and horns, the cloud of God’s glory filled the whole place.

When King Hezekiah became ill with the disease that would take his life, the prophet Isaiah came and told him, “Put your affairs in order; for you are about to die.”

2 Kings 20:1

Lord Jesus, we know that someday each of us will face the view of death that King Hezekiah faced. Lord, show us the way to be ready when that day comes to us. Give us joy in knowing that our affairs are in order when our race is run. Amen.

Jeremiah 33: 25-26

DayLight Prayer –

Lord, many times your children make a mess of keeping our covenant we have made with you. Lord in those moments, please forgive us, and Lord, in you mercy deliver us from unfaithfulness. Amen.

Now about that day or hour (when I shall return), no one knows it, angels don’t and neither do I. Only the father knows. So…you watch and be alert.

DayLight Prayer –

Help us Lord to know that the here and now is most important. Help us remain undistracted with ruminations about that day and hour, but rather show us that today is the day we are saved. Amen.

You, Lord, will be our guard, in front, in back, at our sides, over and under. You will protect us now until forever.

DayLight Prayer –

Lord, we know in our hearts that you protect us, but yet sometimes we get afraid and we worry. Won’t you please comfort us with your gentle and protective presence.  Amen.

Jesus took bread, thanked God, broke it, and gave it to his disciples. He said, “This is my body that I give for you. Remember me by doing the same.”

Luke 22: 19

DayLight Prayer –

Gracious Lord, it isn’t easy to be broken and given away. So Lord, help us to know that when we follow you, when our bodies are blessed, broken and given for others, it is in that sacrifice we become what you asked us to be, a memorial to you.  Amen.

To what can this generation be compared to? Well, it’s like children who sit in the mall saying to one another: We played music for you, but you didn’t dance. We sang a sad song for you, but you didn’t cry.

Matthew 11: 16-17

DayLight Prayer –

Lord, when we try to put you in a box that we have designed and we have made, forgive us. Show us that you create us, we do not create you. Amen.
