Holy Lord, Thank you for the understanding that only the righteousness of Jesus can secure me. Help me to make my actions match up with your way and Jesus’ commands. Amen.

Dear Lord,  wisdom and understanding is illusive to me on many days, but I hope and trust that you guide me, even when I lack even a basic type of sense. Thank you, Lord, for your constant presence–the foundation on which I stand. Amen.

My Lord, a cool head is not easy to keep in some situations. Give me divine intelligence and understanding today to be restrained and wise in my responses. Amen.

Oh Lord, help us to accept one another wherever we each may be on the way of faith. Help us understand that saints and right understandings are not made overnight. Help us seek you for our faith and instruction, and rely less on man-made ideas. Above all stop our arguments and increase our ecumenical spirit. Amen.

Lord, help me today to have diligent hands for those in need. May my works of piety result in turning, at least momentarily, poverty into riches. Amen.

Lord, Frankly I can’t really imagine that great day when you appear to us all…just as you are. It is hard to imagine this world without evil, oppression, hurt, and death. So I offer a prayer of thanks for this promise and the assurance of this future day. Amen.

The commands, don’t commit adultery, don’t murder, steal or covet, and all the others like them are summed up in this command: Love others like you love yourself.
