DayLight Prayer –

Lord, Everyday as you children we are struck with all our lives contain. The beautiful and also our need to endure, to face afflictions and hardships and the pressures to be so much to so many. Yet, in it all we know that you strengthen us, moment by moment, to show ourselves worthy of the calling you have given us. I, for one am grateful. Amen.

Lord, Please give me strength today to work at all the tasks you have given me to do. Teach me to trust in your promise of abundance when I abandon the hollow trinkets this world offers me. Amen.

God, listen to my prayer, don’t ignore my plea for help. Pay attention to me, and answer me. I am restless and in turmoil with my complaint. The enemy’s voice and the wicked pressure me.

Psalm 55: 1-3

Sweet Lord,  I know that you hear me when I pray, but when my heart and soul are in turmoil because of all that goes on, all that assails me, the pressure, the questions, the state of things, well…I can’t hear you very well. Say the word to me that you spoke to the sea. Do you remember? When your disciples were afraid and distracted by the storm…and you said, “Peace, be still”? Say that word to me and help me hear you. Amen.

Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me enough faith to believe in your saving power. I certainly know that my deeds are not good enough to save squat–much less my eternal soul–so Jesus, Thank You.  Amen.

DayLight Prayer –

Lord God, King Darius recognized that you are God of all things, omniscient, omnipotent and everlasting. When I get in those moments of stress and fear, help me to stop and remember Darius’ words. Help me take strength from the fact that such a One as You notices and loves even me.  Amen.

Gracious God, As I grow older keep my heart finely attuned to you. Give me faith to trust you day by day even as my life ebbs away and my body begins to fail. Use me to the very end, I pray.  Amen.
