ThreeKingsDayLight Scripture –  They asked, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We’ve seen his star in the east, and we’ve come to honor him.”

Matthew 2:2

DayLight Prayer – Lord, The Christmas story never gets old to me, neither does the awe which accompanies it. What would make learned men take on such a perilous journey to bring you gifts. What did they really know? God today help me to have the same passion for you, and help me to have courage in the face of the peril of my own journey. Amen.

christmas-light-type-001DayLight Scripture – The true light that shines on all people was coming into the world. The light was in the world, and the world came into being through the light, but the world didn’t recognize the light.

John 1: 9-10

DayLight Prayer – Lord, These days we are seeing all kinds of lights; lights on trees, rails, tractors, bushes, towers, boats and even golf carts. Lord, let it be that every twinkling light this Christmas season reminds someone of your birthday, when you, the light of the world, became one of us so that blindness and loss would be overcome, Amen.

Luke 1:30-33

Woman at the Well, by Doug Weaver

DayLight Scripture – Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 6:35

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Some days, I feel the burden of others’ heart. They file into my soul like children whose noses need hankies. Those little ones then draw my attention away from work, away from thought, even away from prayer.  God, help me today to realize that the hunger and thirst that I see in others is being satisfied by you. Help me to know you are in their lives, strengthening them, guiding them, and helping them to grow closer to you…Help me, Jesus, because some days I struggle to believe they even know you are there…Lord help my unbelief.  Amen.
