About Judy Eurey

In my life I am a wife to Ed, a mom to Amanda and Charles, Mimi to Sara and Jessy, and Judy to my friends and family. In 2019 I retired from pastoral ministry and have settled into my new normal. Frankly I love being retired. Unless otherwise noted, the Scripture passages used on my blog DayLight are my own paraphrased interpretations. I invite you to verify, dispute and otherwise comment. I am open to discussion.

gentlenessDayLight Scripture  – Conduct yourselves with all humility, gentleness, and patience. Accept each other with love.

Ephesians 4:2

DayLight Prayer – Dear Lord, I know that I am not gentle and patient much. I am never humble. So I’m sorry. Help me to feel for others as you do, and help me to see others as you do, with total and complete love and acceptance. I’m sure encountering others with your love will help me with that humility, gentleness and above all patience. Amen.

school_of_fishDayLight Scripture – Wherever the river flows, every living thing that moves will thrive. There will be great schools of fish, because when these waters enter the sea, it will be fresh. Wherever the river flows, everything will live.

Ezekiel 47:9

DayLight Prayer – Lord, It’s obvious isn’t it? When water is stagnant, there is no life. Help me today to let your living water flow through me, so I will be alive. Amen.

button_enemiesDayLight Scripture – If your enemies are starving, feed them some bread; if they are thirsty, give them water to drink.

Proverbs 25:21

DayLight Prayer – Dear God of grace and mercy, I admit that feeding an enemy is not something that I readily do. It seems like a backward approach to having what I want most, which is peace. But I get you. You want me to show mercy and kindness, so that on the off-chance, they may see some good in me and be open.  So help me God, and I will try to love my enemies like I know you love them. Amen.

tranquilDayLight Scripture – Jesus spoke to the people again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me won’t walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I wonder how many people you will speak to today. I wonder how many will listen and how many will ignore you. My prayer is today that you speak to me, help me to see your light and follow you. God forgive me when I don’t look up!  Amen.

Sochi peace dove

DayLight Scripture – I will grant peace in the land so that you can lie down without anyone frightening you. I will remove dangerous animals from the land, and no sword will pass through it.

Leviticus 26:6

DayLight Prayer – Lord, It is a blessed thing to be able to lie down in peace. So many of us hardly do that anymore. We are weighted down by the our own traumas and the trauma of others. We resist the option of giving our thoughts, our minds, and our worries over to you. I am so grateful that when I do, I have peace. Bless God for God’s wonderful peace, that eliminates my fear.  Amen.
