About Judy Eurey

In my life I am a wife to Ed, a mom to Amanda and Charles, Mimi to Sara and Jessy, and Judy to my friends and family. In 2019 I retired from pastoral ministry and have settled into my new normal. Frankly I love being retired. Unless otherwise noted, the Scripture passages used on my blog DayLight are my own paraphrased interpretations. I invite you to verify, dispute and otherwise comment. I am open to discussion.

3kidsDayLight Scripture –  The angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Mary. God is honoring you. Look! You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and he will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of David his father.  He will rule over Jacob’s house forever, and there will be no end to his kingdom.

Luke 1:30-33

DayLight Prayer – Gracious Lord, I pray today for those who are afraid, who seek to do good but fear that it is impossible. I pray for the one who is fearful of not being worthy of your love, whose humble heart breaks when they believe they may have failed you. Send them the angel of your grace and let them know honor. May their hearts be as bright as a child’s smile. Amen.

Woman at the Well, by Doug Weaver

DayLight Scripture – Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 6:35

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Some days, I feel the burden of others’ heart. They file into my soul like children whose noses need hankies. Those little ones then draw my attention away from work, away from thought, even away from prayer.  God, help me today to realize that the hunger and thirst that I see in others is being satisfied by you. Help me to know you are in their lives, strengthening them, guiding them, and helping them to grow closer to you…Help me, Jesus, because some days I struggle to believe they even know you are there…Lord help my unbelief.  Amen.

adventDayLight Scripture –   John, the child of Zechariah and Elizabeth, will go forth before the Lord, equipped with the spirit and power of Elijah. Those Dekatte Boys!

The Delatte Brothers

DayLight Scripture – People were bringing babies to Jesus so that he would bless them. When the disciples saw this, they scolded them. Then Jesus called them to him and said, “Allow the children to come to me. Don’t forbid them, because God’s kingdom belongs to people like these children.
