Psalm 62:8

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I pray for persons who are facing a difficult time ahead, those whose futures seem bleak and uncertain, those whose security is threatened by loss of employment, those who have lost a love one, those who are in the midst of divorce, and those who are in prison…anyone who is struggling with life. Lord as they pour their hearts out before you, seeking refuge in you, let them know that you are there; that they are not alone. Amen.

DayLight Scripture – This saying is reliable and deserves full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I’m the biggest sinner of all.

1 Timothy 1:15

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Help me today to recognize my own sinfulness. We are all sinners, and I thank you that you came to save us! Amen.

DayLight Scripture –   All who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons and daughters. 

Romans 8:14

DayLight Prayer – Lord, I rejoice that your spirit lives within me. I pray for you to help me to be led by your Spirit so that my life reflects your wisdom, commitment, love and generosity. Amen.

DayLight Scripture –   Jesus saved us because of his mercy, not because of righteous things we had done. He did it through the washing of new birth and the renewing by the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:5

DayLight Prayer – Lord, My thoughts today are for people who believe they have to be good before they can be God’s. Help them Lord to understand that the being good can only happen when they are God’s. Thank you for loving me as I am. Thank you for the grace I have because of your mercy.  Amen.

DayLight Scripture – Never be rash with your mouth, nor let your heart be quick to utter a word before God, for God is in heaven, and you upon earth; therefore let your words be few.

Ecclesiastes 5:2

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Help me today to offer the prayers of my heart with as few words as possible. Even if they come in sighs and tears only, I know you hear and understand. Amen. 

DayLight Scripture –  All the leaders and all the people rejoiced and brought their money and dropped it into the chest until it was full.

2 Chronicles 24:10

DayLight Prayer – Lord, As we begin this new year, I pray for all those who will face the year in poverty. I pray that you will use the generosity of others to make provisions for those who have little. All of 2015, instill in me the generous heart of Jesus, who gave freely for us to live .  Amen.
