child-soldierDayLight Scripture – On that day, I will make a covenant for them with the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the creeping creatures of the fertile ground. I will do away with the bow, the sword, and war from the land; I will make you lie down in safety.

Hosea 2:18

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Hasten the day when there is no more war, no more fighting, and no more fear. You have given us this wonderful world to live in, a place where children can grow up, learn and live. Why do we humans destroy the beautiful, and leave behind what we believe is the “new and improved.” God forgive us when we do not attach ourselves to you and your goodness, when we fight instead of love one another, and when we do listen to you. Amen.

DayLight 11.19.14

Psalm 12:6

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for the perfection of your promises. You promise us life amid any and every destruction. You promise to be there to hold us up, to strengthen us, to assist us in any way that we need, if we just ask you to. Today I ask for myself and for anyone who needs you. Amen.

Job 22:21

DayLight Prayer – God of all Creation, hear my prayer. Let your peace be with those persons whose family members have suffered violence at the hands of governments, terrorists, and mobs. Help them to find forgiveness in their hearts for the ruthlessness that has been visited upon them. Through Jesus who is the author of peace. Amen.

hand_reaching_outDayLight Scripture – There is no distinction between people, because the same Lord is Lord of all, who gives richly to all who call on him.  All who call on the Lord’s name will be saved.

Romans 10: 12-13

DayLight Prayer – Lord,  Today I pray for people who believe that you only hear the prayers of the good. Help them to know that you hear every prayer that is uttered in the name of the Lord. All they have to do is pray. You hear; you act; you save. Amen.

mistyDayLight Scripture – I raise my eyes toward the mountains. Where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121: 1-2

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Thank you for the rain, the wind, and the misty mountains. Thank you for the help that you send to me when I am at a loss, or concerned about a loved one, or in a state of grief. Your love comforts. Your love even melts a cold heart. Your love creates a new world within me, so help extend your creation beyond myself to those I encounter.  Amen.

college-student8DayLight Scripture – How can young people keep their paths pure? By guarding them according to what you’ve said.

Psalm 119:9

DayLight Prayer – Lord,  My prayer today is for all young people in college. Lord, I know that they are faced with decisions, many of which can change the course of their lives. I pray today that you are with them and help them to think of you before they make any choice. Amen.

wild-horses-runningDayLight Scripture – Christ himself suffered on account of sins, once for all, the righteous one on behalf of the unrighteous. He did this in order to bring you into the presence of God. Christ was put to death as a human, but made alive by the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:18

DayLight Prayer – Lord, Today I offer praise to you for the blessing of your righteous. Lord you have indeed made a way for me to be saved, something I cannot do for myself, no matter how good I try to be. I fail at the righteousness business…big time. Thank you for giving me the gift of grace. Help me to live into that great gift. Amen.
