Father, keep me this day from rash words and stupid actions. Let me remember to hold myself in-check, to stop and think things through before I act. Guide me in all ways to reflect the wisdom you give me, and help me rebuke my own hastiness. Amen.

God, how quickly we are to be moved onto that hill of worry; how often we drag fretfulness, indecision and uncertainty up that terrain. Forgive us Lord, and move us instead to the rock-skipping delights of communion with you, where everything we need, we find. Amen.

Lord Jesus, we know that someday each of us will face the view of death that King Hezekiah faced. Lord, show us the way to be ready when that day comes to us. Give us joy in knowing that our affairs are in order when our race is run. Amen.

Lord, many times your children make a mess of keeping our covenant we have made with you. Lord in those moments, please forgive us, and Lord, in you mercy deliver us from unfaithfulness. Amen.
